Abilify Ireland (generic name: aripiprazole) refers to an antipsychotic medicine that works by changing the way a chemical in the human brain works. Abilify Ireland is used to treat various psychotic conditions, such as schizophrenia, as well as the symptoms of bipolar I disorder (such as bipolar disorder). It is not established whether aripiprazole is completely safe and effective in children under 13 years of age with schizophrenia or in children under 10 years with bipolar disorder.
Abilify can be used effectively with other medicines to treat adults suffering from depression. Abilify Ireland is suitable for children 6 years of age and older with Tourette’s syndrome, as well as symptoms of autism (eg unexplained aggression, unusual irritability, rapid anger, frequent mood swings, self-harm). Abilify Ireland is also available as an injection and is suitable for the treatment of agitation associated with bipolar mania and / or schizophrenia.
Abilify Ireland cannot be used in patients with dementia-related psychiatric disorders. This is because older people with dementia are at higher risk of dying.
Certain young patients may experience suicide while taking Abilify Ireland for major depression and other related psychiatric disorders. Therefore, it is recommended to pay attention to changes in attitudes, moods or other symptoms. Do not hesitate to tell your doctor about any worsening or new symptoms. Your doctor should regularly check and monitor your progress during treatment with Abilify Ireland. Your family or other close carers are advised to keep an eye on any changes in your symptoms or mood.
Stop taking Abilify Ireland immediately and contact your doctor if you experience any of the following symptoms:
fever with muscle stiffness and fast heartbeat;
Sudden onset of symptoms (such as acute headache, unusual weakness or sudden numbness and blurred vision, balance or language problems)
Uncontrolled muscle movement.
Abilify Ireland is contraindicated in patients with known allergic reactions to aripiprazole. You cannot receive Abilify dementia. Aripiprazole may be associated with an increased risk of death in elderly patients with dementia.

Adults can start with a dose of 10 or 15 mg once a day. Based on a systematic evaluation, Abilify has been shown to be effective as tablets in the dose range of 10 to 30 mg per day. No additional effects are evident at doses exceeding 10-15 mg daily. Generally, no dose increase is allowed before 2 weeks, which is the time required to reach steady state.
For adolescents, the appropriate dose of Abilify is 10 mg a day. Aripiprazole has been studied in adolescents 13 to 17 years of age treated with 10 mg and 30 mg daily for schizophrenia. Initially, the patient’s daily tablet dose was 2 mg, and after 2 days of treatment, the dose was further titrated to 5 mg and increased to an additional 10 mg after an additional 2 days. Further dose increases should only be increased by 5 mg. The 30 mg daily dose did not significantly improve the effect compared to the 10 mg daily dose. Abilify Ireland can be taken before or after a meal.
